Pulau Selayar (near Lingga Island)

November 6th: Departed just after 6am, it was glassed out this morning, no wind and very picturesque. Mauskatti and Rose had already left, and we followed Bounty out with Stormvogel beside us.

We are heading for one of the final rally destinations, Pulau Selayar (there are actually two islands in Indonesia called this, our destination is the one near Lingga Island) We have to alter our course, due to dangerous mine fields! There is a narrow channel through two minefields that we have to navigate through. Fingers crossed!

We actually had some internet later on in the passage and I was able to update the website and answer emails which took some time. Still negotiating with shipping companies for quotes to ship 9 boats from Phuket, Thailand to Marmaris, Turkey. I think we will be able to make a substantial saving but not finalised yet. Lots of correspondence going to and fro keeping me busy.

Weather has been all over the place today, we have had – lightning, thunder, no wind to wind from every direction at 20 knots and now a bit of rain. We are just approaching the anchorage, it will be good to have a bit of civilisation again.
